Plainsboro is in Middlesex County but shares an excellent school district with West Windsor (in Mercer County.) Two public high schools serve the Plainsboro/West Windsor school district, with High School South (located in Princeton Junction) rated slightly above High School North (located in Plainsboro). Town Center and Wyckoff Elementary Schools are both located in Plainsboro. Millstone River School, serving 4th and 5th grades, is also located in Plainsboro, as is Community Middle School, which serves the 6th to 8th grades. Both Plainsboro and West Windsor (Princeton Junction) provide guides to school attendance on their websites. These guides provide information about which developments/streets are served by which schools within both communities. Plainsboro housing includes many townhome/condo communities such as The Ashford, The Brittany, Aspen and Tamarron as well as lovely single family home developments like The Gentry, Princeton Landing and the Princeton Collection. Bordering Dayton on one side and West Windsor on the other, the town has a charming center, called Plainsboro Village, located at the intersection of Schalks Crossing and Scudder Mills Roads. Similar in style and feel to the Town Center in Robbinsville (Sharbell Homes is responsible for building both town centers), Plainsboro Village contains relatively new single family homes in the center of town amidst retail shops, restaurants, a post office, and banks. An active adult community, Cranbury Brook, also is in Plainsboro.
