Princeton, NJ Real Estate and Homes for Sale
There is a lot to say about Princeton. The Township and Borough were recently merged, something many felt would not be possible. Princeton has much to offer, including one of the finest universities in the country -- Princeton University -- a wonderful downtown shopping district, excellent adult school, great library, so much history . . . the list goes on. But home prices are quite high here. A four bedroom split-level home that might sell for $400,000 in South Brunswick, easily could cost more than $700,000 in Princeton. Many homes are priced in the multi-million dollar range. There are still good values in the condo market and smaller, historical homes in the Abbott Commons section, all within walking distance of downtown.
Many people live in Princeton because of the university environment and the excellent public school system. The hospital formerly on Witherspoon Street, has been relocated to Plainsboro where it is now known as the University Medical Center of Princeton @ Plainsboro. McCarter Theater is a great place for local music and dramatic productions. There are also numerous private schools, lovely parks and walking trails, Carnegie Lake (where the Princeton University crew team practices) and some wonderful restaurants and shops. And Princeton was the first New Jersey community to receive the World Health Organization's new designation of "age friendly community."
